Why Wear a Poppy?

Wearing a poppy is a way of remembering those who were lost in World War I. It is said that a doctor, John McRae, witnessed the battlefield and noticed not only the blood of the soldiers but the red poppies, he wrote a poem and many believe that poem and the resilience of the poppy itself led to the poppy becoming a way to honor our lost and fallen.
