Why is There 360 Degrees in a Circle?

Thanks the Babylonians. They had a number system based on 60. They took a hexagon and circumscribed a circle around it and found that the circumference around the hexagon is exactly equal to 6 times the radius of the circle. Since they are found of 60 they used it for the radius. Therefore 6 times 60 is 360 and is used to divide the circumscribed circle into 360 equal degrees.
