Why is Jesus Called the Lion of Judah?

First we have to remember that Jesus was a Jew. And in ancient times there were 12 tribes of Jewish people. Out of those 12 there was a tribe that the Jewish priests had to come from and a tribe where the Kings came from. Jesus was descendant of the tribe of the Kings, which was called Judah, thus the Lion of Judah. The Lion being the King of the Jungle.
