Why is Good Friday Called Good?

The real reason is not really known, but there are a few theories floating around. During one time, good meant to be holy. So, Good Friday meant Holy Friday. Another one is that the evils of the day, came around to be the greater good eventually, so Good Friday was thus named. Last but not least, in archaic terms, Good meant God. So, in saying goodbye, you were telling the person, God be with you.
