The United States is no longer at war with Iraq. America is still however in constant conflict with terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan with such groups as Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. In March 2003, US led coalition forces invaded Iraq, by April the Saddam Hussein regime was soundly defeated. US and NATO forces have spent the next several years rebuilding the country and helping the new government establish itself. In January of 2009 the US turned over control of the airspace and Green Zone to the Iraqi government.
