Why is Alabama Called the Crimson Tide?

The name Crimson Tide came from a rivalry game between Alabama and Auburn back in 1907. Alabama was not the favorite to win this game. The game took place in what was termed as an ocean of red mud and the great rivalry game that is Auburn-Alabama ended in a 6-6 tie. The announcer had been calling Alabama the Thin Red Line and since the game wasn’t won by either team, they took on the name Crimson Tide. Interesting, huh? To find more information click here:
