Why do People Dye Easter Eggs?

Eggs are a symbol of new life and the Easter holiday celebrates new life and rebirth. At Easter people used to decorate eggs to celebrate the end of Lent and the Easter holiday by exchanging eggs as gifts between friends. Now we mostly decorate eggs to hide and seek. Eggs can be simply dyed for decoration or elaborately decorated batik style with wax, and elaborate patterns, these are Ukrainian Pysanky eggs. – submitted by Katz, K – username KitLyne
