Who Started World War One?

World War One unfurled on June 28, 1914, when Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, was shot by a Serb. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, which was allied with Russia. Germany, Austria-Hungary’s ally, declared war on Russia. France was allied with Russia so France declared war with Germany as well. England was allied with France, so England declared war against Germany, too. Basically, the entire continent became engulfed in war over a small incident due to a system of very loose alliances. Look here for more information:
