Who Invented the Tire?

In 1846, Robert William Thomson invented the pneumatic tire, but nobody would buy it. In 1887, John Boyd Dunlop invented a pneumatic tire for his son’s tricycle. He began making pneumatic tires in Ireland in 1890. In 1891, Dunlop’s patent was revoked because Thomson had already patented it. The radial tire was invented in 1946 by Michelin.
