Who Invented the First Radio?

The inventor of the first radio has been a hotly disputed subject that actually went all the way to the Supreme Court. Guillermo Marconi had the first patent filed in Great Britain in 1896. But all of his work was based other peoples’ verified work. Nikola Tesla meanwhile has the first American patent in 1897. The Supreme Court ruled that Marconi did not have the right to invention because he showed no improvement to patents produced by Tesla, John Stone, and Oliver Lodge. It is basically given as a collaborative invention but Tesla remains at the forefront.
