Who Invented Cereal?

Breakfast cereals date back to the 1860s. Granula was developed in 1863 by James Caleb Jackson and became the first breakfast cereal. John Kellogg and his brother stumbled upon Corn Flakes in 1894 when they accidentally left cooked wheat on the stove. They decided to toast the mixture and serve it anyway to the patients in the sanitarium and this is how corn flakes were born. Post developed a cereal beverage called Postum in 1895.
