Who Designed the Georgia State Flag?

On May 8, 2003, Governor Sonny Perdue signed H.B. 380 marking the third flag to fly over the state capitol in 27 months. This latest flag is the only one voted by public referendum and endorsed by the people to fly in Georgia. It is seen as a compromise as it has elements of the original US flags, the Stars and Bars of the Confederate flags and the Coat of Arms of the state incorporated into the design.
