Where is the Thyroid Gland Located?

The thyroid gland is about two inches and is shaped like a butterfly. It is located under the voice box or larynx in the front of the neck. It has two lobes which are on each side of the windpipe and it is joined by the isthmus which is a tissue. The thyroid gland is very important for the functioning of the body’s metabolism or hormones as well as balancing the amount on calcium that is in the body.
