Your New York state tax refund could be in multiple places if you haven’t received it yet. If you didn’t pay your child support, it could be at the Child Support Enforcement office. If you didn’t pay previous taxes, it could be there. How about parking tickets? If you have any of them, it’s possible that might be where it went. Maybe there is a garnishment for an unpaid bill. Maybe it just got lost and ended up back to the state. It would be best, if it’s been awhile since you filed, that you call your local state tax office.
