When Were Calculators Invented?

Calculators were invented in the ninth century in China. It was and still is called an abacus. The first calculating machine was invented by Blaise Pascal in 1642 and was a mechanical device with limited calculating ability. In 1886, William Seward Burroughs invented the first commercially used calculator. In 1894, Otto Steiger introduced ‘the Millionaire’ which was the first device capable of direct multiplication. The modern electronic calculator was developed by a team at Texas Instruments and was introduced in 1966. For more information look here:
