When Did the French Revolution Begin?

The French Revolution began in 1789 with the meeting of the Estates-General on May 5th. The Middle Class, often referred to as the Third Estate, were desperately trying to create a French Constitution, but were experiencing polictical and social roadblocks. They finally grew tired of the King and Nobility’s ignorance to their plight and took the radical move of stoming the Bastille prison on July 14th. This is the true starting point of the revolution.
