When Did the Catholic Religion Start?

The first recorded instance of the title ‘Catholic Church’ occurred in a Letter written to Ignatius of Antioch. It was written in or around 107 to the Christian believers in Smyrna. He exhorted all Believers to be supportive of their Bishop and encouraged that wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. In this sense, all Christian churches belong to the Catholic church which really means the ‘Universal Church’ which belongs to Christ. For more information, look here:
