When Did the Boston Massacre Happen?

The Boston Massacre, an event that led to the death of five civilians by British troops, took place on March 5, 1770. Tensions had been mounting in Boston because of the presence of the British Military and on the day in question, a number of fights broke out between civilians and the troops. At one point some British troops fired their muskets into the crowd which resulted in the deaths of the 5 citizens.
