When Did Segregation Begin?

Segregation had been in existence for a long number of years in the world and still exists today. It is a sad fact that segregation has actually existed since the beginning of time. If one is referring to de jure segregation within the United States of America, de jure segregation actualy began following the implementation of the Jim Crow laws. The Jim Crow laws were laws that made people ‘seperate but equal’ citizens, and were implemented in the years following the American civil war known as the Reconstruction period.
