What Powers are Denied to Congress?

In general, there are three powers that are expressly denied to Congress within the United States constitution. Article 1 section 9 lists these denied powers. As such, the three expressly denied powers to congress as written within article 1 section 9 of the constitution states that there are to be no bills of attainder, there are to be no ex post facto laws to be created, and finally, congress is not allowed to grant titles of nobility to anyone within the United States.
