What is the Eighteenth Amendment?

The Eighteenth (18th) Amendment can be summed up in one word, ‘PROHIBITION’. From 1919 to 1933, there was a national ban on alcoholic beverages. You couldn’t (or were not supposed to) make it, sell it, or transport it. As we all know, where there is a will (or demand), there is a way…hence the bootlegging industry was borne.
