What is the Central Limit Theorem?

Why are the majority of American males of average height? This is a direct result of the central limit theorem although most of us don’t really know or care why. Basically the central limit theorem states that given a large sample of an independent variable that the distribution of the sample values will follow the normal distribution which is that grading bell curve that we all hated in school. In other words, if you sample enough height values for American males you will find that they do indeed form a bell curve with most men in the middle and much less at the extremes.
