What is Telephone Etiquette?

It seems that telephone etiquette is becoming a lost art. People tend to be abrupt with no regard for the person on the other end of the telephone. Point number one, be considerate of the other person. Answer the phone with a cheerful voice whether it is in a personal or business setting. Put a smile in your voice. Do not eat or chew while you are talking on the phone. Do not cut the other person off while they are speaking. Do not hang up on the other person. Be sure to end the call properly.
