What is Stereotyping?

Stereotyping is a thought process that organizes beliefs about one group of people and assigns them to everyone in that group. An example of stereotyping would be that you believe that Indian people like curry, while it might be a popular spice, I’m confident that not all Indian people like curry. Often stereotypes cheat us out of ever getting to know a person for who they are as an individual. At worst stereotyping can turn into such things as racial profiling and other discriminatory things.
