A plural noun is a noun that is more than one. Nouns are categorized as people, places, things or ideas. So a plural noun, is when there is more than one person, more than one place and more than one thing or more than one idea. Some nouns just require an ‘s’ to be added to the end of the word, where others require an ‘es’. If the word ends in ‘y’ it is usually dropped and ‘ies’ is added to the end of the word. There are also irregular plural nouns, because the form of the word changes. For example, mouse = mice, calf = calves. Just remember if you are asked for a plural noun, you need to have more than one.
