Oatmeal is a type of hot breakfast cereal. Oatmeal comes from either rolled, crushed or steel-cut oat groats. The oatmeal has many health benefits including reducing cholesterol. The FDA issued a decision in1997 saying that food with a lot of oat bran will reduce the risk of heart disease when it is coupled with a low fat diet. Oatmeal is great on a cold day for breakfast you can add raisins or bananas for extra flavor.
