What is Miranda V Arizona?

Miranda vs Arizona is one of the most well known court cases in the US. It is where our Miranda rights stem from. A man was arrested in 1966 in Arizona named Ernesto Miranda. He was arrested for robbery but also admitted to the rape of a woman days earlier. He didn’t ask for an attorney. He was convicted and his lawyer appealed to the Supreme Court. They overturned his conviction and the right to remain silent was born.
