What is Job Shadowing?

Job shadowing is the opportunity to spend time in another department at your comapny and learn about that position. It gives the employee a feel for what is involved and helps them determine if they might be a good fit for the position. In some instances the individual may be able to actually do part of the job as well. Another advantage for the person shadowing is building relationships in the department you are interested in. This can give you an advantage should a position become available.
