What is in DNA?

DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) is the genetic blueprint for most plants and animals. DNA contains the instructions for building the organism. DNA molecules are located in every cell and are self replicating. This is especially important for a developing fetus as when it’s cells divide each cell needs a complete copy of the original DNA. DNA is hereditary. A child receives half of it’s DNA from the mother and half from the father. This is why when a paternity test is done, both parents and the child must be swabbed.
