What is Herpes Simplex Virus?

There two forms of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). HSV-1 is the virus that generally causes oral herpes, which is also known as fever blisters or cold sores. HSV-1 can also be tranmitted to the genital area through oral contact. HSV-2 typically causes genital herpes, but again can be transmitted to the facial area during oral sex. There is no cure for the herpes simplex virus, however there are medications to help control the symptoms and severity of the outbreaks. To find more information click here:
