What is Grade Point Average?

Calculating a student’s grade point average (GPA) is a common method to measure the student’s academic performance. In order to calculating the GPA, you need to know the point value of each letter grade (for example, A=4, B=3, C=2, etc.). Then you add up all the letter grades using their corresponding point values to obtain the total point value. Lastly, you divide the total point value by the number of grades you have counted to get your GPA. That wasn’t too hard, was it?
