What is Ectopic Pregnancy?

An female’s egg (ovum) is normally fertilized by the male’s sperm inside the uterus where it attaches itself to the uterine wall by producing enzymes allowing it to implant in various types of tissue. When the ovum attaches itself to any tissue other than the uterus tissue this is what is called an ectopic pregnancy which is a medical condition that if not treated properly can lead to death.
