What is Chronic Wasting Disease?

Chronic Wasting Disease or CWD is a brain disease primarily seen in wildlife specifically the deer family. A nationwide program is now in place after 2002 when the State of Wisconsin reported a high increase of CWD in their state. Route of transmission of this disease is from mother to baby deer or housing unaffected deer, moose or elk in an area that housed infected wildlife even after time has passed.
