What is China One Child Policy?

China’s one child policy was implemented during the 1970s because it was believed that at the rate of populating growth, the country would not be able to feed the population. The policy stipulated that majority of couples were not allowed to have more than one child and this was more applicable to persons who live in the city. However, some people in rural areas, under specific circumstances, may be allowed to have two children.
