What is Child Support?

Child support is a system that has been put in place to ensure that single parents are not left to raise their child or children with absolutely no help from the other biological parent of the child. When a man or a woman is raising a child alone, he or she can take the other parent to court. Once taken to court, the judge will determine based off the amount of money the individual makes, the bills they are responsible for, and the amount of other children that the individual may have, how much money they should have to give to the other parent monthly. Once this court order has been put in place, the parent who has been taken for child support is forced to pay the money or there will be circumstances that they will have to face.
