What is Chianti?

Chianti is a very dry red Italian wine produced in Tuscany by using a vcariety of grapes giving it a very strong presence. The most memorable statement made about the Chianti wine was a quote from Hannibal Lector in The Silence of the Lambs (1991) where Hannibal was retelling a story of a census taker of whom he ate his liver with fava beans and a nice Chianti.
