What is Cervical Dysplasia?

Normal cell growth within the cervix begins with young cells that are round in shape and as these cells age they rise to the surface of the cervix and begin to flatten out. In cervical dysplasia this order of cell growth is disrupted and there is only a few abnormal cells and this is called moderate dysplasia. As cervical dysplasia progresses the number of abnormal cells increase and if left untreated will eventually become invasive cervical cancer. Look here for more information:
