What is Calvary?

Calvary is the term in the Holy Bible to describe and name the place where Jesus Of Nazareth’s death sentence was carried out. It is named this because of the Mountain outside of Jerusalem, the mountain itself resembles a human skull and it was the site of many deaths by hanging. Crucifixion, the method by which Jesus was put to death, was reserved for unusual criminals or those who had committed particularly heinous crimes.
