What is Arbor Day?

The holiday of Arbor Day is when individuals and communities are encouraged to plant trees. The holiday actually started in 1872 in Nebraska but has become a world wide holiday. Making the holiday global is credited to Birdsey Northrop. The date of the holiday varies by state and is dependent on when the best planting time is.
