A W-4 form, is a form that is commonly distributed, when you are newly hired as an employee. This form will determine how many exemptions you want to claim, to determine how much taxes will go to Federal and State tax obligations. Most single people claim 1 or 0 on their W4. But some people fill out a W-4 later in the year, if they think they are not paying enough into taxes, or want to pay less.
