What is a Shih Tzu?

A Shih Tzu is a breed of dog that originated in Tibet and China back in the 17th century. It weighs between nine and sixteen pounds and can be up to eleven inches tall. Shih Tzus were first bred to be watch dogs in imperial palaces. These little dogs have a big personality and are very intelligent. I had a Shih Tzu/Maltese mix who was an absolute joy to have around.
