What is a Panic Disorder?

Panic disorder is an extreme fear of a specific situation. Some people have panic attacks when they see something they are afraid of such as spiders, snakes, or dogs. Others panic when they have to do something that causes a high level of anxiety such as public speaking, or riding in an airplane. Panic disorder is a very high stress level of fear of something. It is an intense, sometimes debilitating sense of being scared.
