What is a Lymph Node?

The immune system is a very important system for our body’s survival. A lymph node is a tiny bean shaped organ, within the immune system, that acts as a filter to trap foreign particles. These lymph nodes serve as the first responders to any foreign particles which could be bacteria, viruses, or cancer. The lymph nodes can become inflamed and enlarged when it is engaging a foreign particle and is an indication something is going on in the body.
