What Ended World War 1?

In 1918, the Germans were feeling the effects of the British naval blockade of German ports. Thousands were starving and protesting which resulted in the resignation of German commander Erich Ludendorff. On November 9th 1918, Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicated. An Armistice was signed on November 11th, and the fighting was over. The Treaty of Versailles was agreed to and signed on June 28, 1919, formally ending the war between Germany and the Allied Powers.
