What does Your IQ Score Mean?

IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient. An IQ test predicts learning capacity or capability (as opposed to how much you actually know). The most widely used IQ test is the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children or for Adults (WISC). The average IQ test score is 100 with a standard deviation of 15. This means that ‘normal’ intelligence can range from 85 to 115. Only 2% of the population have IQ scores over 132. Real IQ tests are standardized and can only be given by a trained professional (psychologist, special education teacher, etc.).
