What does Pharaoh Mean?

A pharaoh was the most powerful important person in Ancient Egypt. The Pharaoh made laws, collected taxes, and was the head person that was the defender of Egypt against their enemies or those that they thought did not belong. I am so happy that I was not born in those times, because they would have been off with my head. The norm for the Egyptians were to chop ones head off when they did not do share their same beliefs.
