To become a mayor, you have to first get on the ballot. You have to get out there and meet the public and have them sign a petition so you can get your name on the ballot. Once that happens, you need to get your political party behind you and decide how you are going to raise money to run your campaign. Your supporters can help with getting your message across by posting signs and advertising what changes you would like to make and how you can better the community. Take a stand on what you believe in and why you would be the better man, or woman, for the job. Part of being elected has to do with popularity and name recognition. The more you put yourself out there, the more name recognition you’ll have.
