What does Ide Mean?

Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) is the type of connection used to connect the hard drive to the motherboard. The IDE cables are usually flat, gray ribbon type cable with connectors on either end. These connectors fit the pins on the hard drive and mother board. Hard drives and optical drive usually have a two rows of twenty pins.
