The term bandwidth refers to internet traffic. Most websites are allotted a certain amount of bandwidth per month. This includes traffic to and from the site as well as information being uploaded or downloaded. Bandwidth can be thought as a highway, the more cars on the highway, the slower the traffic, thus the fewer cars the faster the traffic. Speed regulates the flow of traffic and when there is a traffic jam, there are too many people on the highway. The bandwidth controls the traffic by a number to each client. For example the bandwidth for the month may be 100gb. If the client exceeds this amount the site will be temporarily unavailable or the client is charge additional fees for overages.
