What does An Editorial Look Like?

The American Society of Magazine Editors developed an editorial guidelines list and it is standard for American magazines to follow their guide. The editorial is the leading article in a magazine or newspaper. Editorials should look different from the articles and advertisements so that the reader can differentiate. The editorial should be placed on the front cover or the spine as these are designated as the editorial space. Ads should be placed immediately after the editorial and their logos should never be added to the same page as the editorial.
